We were delighted to learn that the Tradescantia Terminator team at Kerikeri High School have won national recognition for their efforts.

The team were invited to compete in the senior division at the national finals of the Community Problem Solving (CmPS) competition. They recently traveled to Auckland for a weekend of fun, challenge and creativity. And, lots of serious competition.

The team had 2 hours to set up their display. This was then followed by a 30 minute panel interview throughout which each team member was questioned on aspects of the project. That night each team gave an account of their project to the 200 participants. They showed the crowd that the Tradescantia Terminators can rhyme as well as act! Even better, they won!

After two years of hard work, the Tradescantia Terminators – Kerikeri High School CmPS team - are 2018 National Winners of the CmPS Senior Division and, have been invited to represent NZ at the International FPS Competition to be held in Boston.

The blue silk draped from the board and flowing across the table symbolised the Wairoa stream and Wairere waterfall, one of the arteries of Papatuanuku in which the water, her life blood, flowed. The team pinned acknowledgements to the waterfall of the those in the community that had been supporters of the project. The life-blood of their project.
